History of Sweetwater Paranormal Research
Sweetwater Paranormal Research, was at first, just an idea that was just briefly talked about and discussed by three friends, David Sloan, Brian McConkey and Aaron Arnold. Though, little did the three soon to be Founders know that just an idea would become a reality and they would be running an actual paranormal team. David, having the curiousity of the paranormal since he was a young boy, from his first personal experience. Brian, just wanting to learn why the spirits still walk this Earth? Is this their Heaven or Hell? Aaron, Paranormal has always sparked his interest.
S.P.R. has had it it's fair share of Members come and go. Some left due to personal, medical reasons, and some lacked commitment. On the positive side, we have those who have stayed and put in their dedication and hard work. They are the ones truly wanting to see what's out there; the ones that's put in the 110% and have been there through thick and thin. They are the ones who help keep and make Sweetwater Paranormal Research going.
No other teams would lift a finger to help S.P.R. get started. There was one team that was truly there, and so, when David, Brian & Aaron got the honor of joining in, and working with a team out of Knoxville, (TN, SHOK Hasmat), we were able to gain some unknown knowledge about the paranormal . After a couple of investigations and having the pleasure of SHOK asking us to be guests on their radio show, SHOK After Dark, we became the proud affiliates of the SHOK Hasmat team...
A few months into the team Aaron left the team to go to College and personal reason. In January 2011 after a year absents from the team he rejoined Sweetwater Paranormal.
In October of 2010, Brian left the team to personal reasons and soon later got back into the paranormal.
After about six months, Sweetwater Paranormal Research up and going. We received a e-mail from an unexpected radio show host asking us to do an interview for her radio show. Needless to say, we had to say, "YES!". We couldn't believe we were going to be guests on the "Nightmares with Malice Cooper" show. A woman who is very popular on the radio circuit, has her own band, and has played numerous shows throughout the world. It was an awesome experience, and had the pleasure of being asked back...
Early February, we had the opportunity to take our Team back to where the curiosity really sparked for David and Brian; "Old South Pittsburg Hospital". David & Brian thought they would never get the chance to go back into O.S.P.H. Fortunately for S.P.R., the O.S.P.H. was being operated by an earlier protégé and mentor, Cindy Lydick. It was like old times for Cindy, David and Brian. After a lot of hard work and dedication from S.P.R., Cindy , the O.S.P.H., and Sweetwater Paranormal Research became the OFFICIAL Security Staff for the Old South Pittsburg Hospital up till October of 2010. We owe Cindy and the rest of her staff a lot of appreciation and thanks for everything she has done for us here at Sweetwater Paranormal Research. In 2010 at Paranormal Camp we presented Cindy with a gift to show her how much the field and our team the hard work she has put into the hospital.
In April of 2011 after 7 months of absents from OSPH Sweetwater Paranormal Research walked the halls again with a new glow and new faces.
We have had the pleasure of being apart of events to the paranormal and to the public to warn the dangers of the paranormal and allowed the general public know it isn’t what you see on TV and there is much more to it then it shows. We are education people what paranormal is all about.
Everyday is a learning experience for us here at Sweetwater Paranormal Research. Everything that we attend and do, whether it be a case, a retreat, a camp, a convention, etc., will be a learning experience for us all. Plus...we must always remember that, "We are not alone. The spirits walk among us!". With the education and the experience that we take from all of our adventures in the paranormal world, We add that to, what will, be the History of Sweetwater Paranormal Research...
